She is very clever and creative and does a good job nowadays of hiding how much things bother her. She always wanted freedom and to get out of her father's strict military-esque lifestyle. She was often told her grandmother named Kim after the actress Kim Novak and it inspired Kim's love of naming her children after old movie stars. Her mother suffered postpartum depression and committed suicide when Ava was five months old. FATHER: Daryl Reynolds:: A hardworking mixed race man who was very strict and hard on his children and rarely showed affection at all. While he loves his children, none of them see it that way and are convinced he always pushed them too hard. All of his children are now estranged from him and Ava hasn't seen him in years. SIBLINGS: Cary Gene Reynolds:: her oldest sibling, a brother named after Cary Grant and Gene Kelly. He hates their father, but is so much like him that it makes it hard to get along with him. Sophia Marilyn Reynolds:: her older sister named for Sophia Loren and Marilyn Monroe. They were always close when they were younger but grew apart the older they got and after running away, Ava has had no contact with her. THEKIDS: none IMPORTANTPEEPS: none OTHERHALF: none THEPETS: none GOODMEMORY: Her best memory was the day she and her best friend agreed to run away together. They thought life on their own would be fun and games and the first few days were a blast. BADMEMORY: Her worst memory was one day asking her siblings about their mother and Cary growing angry and claiming that Ava had killed her. HISTORY: Kim and Darryl Reynolds had three children together. And with all three children, Kim suffered postpartum depression. Their eldest child, a son named Cary, was ten when Ava was born and their older daughter Sophia was three. Kim suffered a great deal following the birth of Ava and Daryl went back to work without care for his wife's suffering. Knowing what she was dealing with only made Kim feel worse and made her fear that it could turn into postpartum psychosis and that she might do something to harm her children. With each passing day she grew more and more depressed and more and more irrational. When Ava was five months old, her mother committed suicide. Cary was in school and both Sophia and Ava were in daycare. Kim was at home alone, thinking of ways to kill herself. Her husband had never believed in taking medication for things like depression and expected her to get over it. What happened was his wife finding stories of women killing their children due to postpartum psychosis, women like Andrea Yates and Dena Schlosser. Fearing she was a danger to her children, Kim drank cleaning chemicals to kill herself and hopefully cleanse herself, as well, of all of her horrible thoughts and the horrible monster she thought she would become. Cary went home with a friend after school and was lucky enough to avoid seeing his mother on the kitchen floor dead. The daycare called Darryl at work when Kim was an hour late picking up the girls. An irritated Darryl left work early, calling Kim repeatedly, but grew more and more worried when she wouldn't pick up. Instead of going to the daycare, he called his mother to pick up the girls and went straight home to find his wife's body. He called 9-1-1 and had a hysterical breakdown after hanging up the phone, blaming himself and knowing there was no hope for his wife and just staring at her body where the chemicals had burned through her throat and stomach. Cary, Sophia, and Ava were babysat by their grandmother, Pia Szohr, the following week while funeral arrangements and an autopsy and everything else was set up and performed. None of the children were allowed to attend their mother's funeral. Darryl and Cary were both distant from Ava after the incident, both feeling guilty as they blamed baby Ava for Kim's death. Sophia, however, took good care of her sister and the two became close friends. As she grew older, Ava asked questions about her mother. Darryl would snap at her, but never answered her, while her brother often screamed at her that she had killed her mother and it always sent Ava into a fit of tears while Sophia yelled at Cary and reassured Ava that it wasn't her fault. Aside from the trauma of being blamed for her mother's death, Ava suffered elsewhere. She was a fat child from her toddler years up to elementary school years. She ate without care and her father was too busy to care much except to make sure they were following rules and keeping his house clean. The older she got, the more people teased her for being overweight, and it only caused her to eat more. When she was eleven, Ava was dangerously obese and could hardly do much of anything. Darryl paid more attention and whipped his children into shape. He no longer had any fattening foods in the house and forced them to eat very little and very healthy and forced them to perform laborious chores around the house. Ava passed out many times but was forced back to work by her father once she regained consciousness. At fifteen, Ava had lot a lot of weight, but was still overweight and still being teased. Her father was rather wealthy and Ava asked to have some plastic surgery done to help get rid of the remaining weight, but her father refused her and told her to get herself into shape. Ava worked harder than ever to get herself healthy, but often had relapses when she would go to a friend's house and eat everything available. Now and then her weight would jump around and she would suddenly gain ten to twenty pounds with her relapses, but they only encouraged her to push herself even harder. She managed to lose over a hundred pounds in a year and felt successful, though her father didn't seem to notice. At sixteen, Ava and her friend Ashley decided to run away together. Both hated their parents and wanted some freedom. The first few days were fun until their money supply ran out and their smart parents caught on and cut off their debit and credit cards. Both wanted to go back home, but knew they wouldn't be allowed back. They sneaked onto buses and crashed in empty houses and cars and wherever they could. They used homeless shelters when they could find them. They had to steal food and were sometimes given food by charities or other places they could find. Ashley began whoring herself out to get them some money, though Ava refused to stoop so low, though eventually Ashley convinced her to try being a stripper. Ava hated it and quit stripping jobs a lot, but in new towns she always found new people willing to take her in and new pigs she could kick in the face. At twenty Ava was nearly raped on her way home from work and shifted for the first time, scaring the drunken man off. Luckily he was too drunk to remember much, as if anyone would believe him. She and Ashley continued to travel together until one day Ashley didn't come back. Ava looked around for her, but her friend was gone without a trace. Maybe she had been arrested or murdered or something, but Ava didn't like to think about it. After a few months on her own, she continued on. Life was hard and it still is and she hates it.
