MYEYES: as a human, jasper had brown eyes and then red as a newborn vampire. when he joined the cullen coven and began feeding on animals instead of humans, his eyes turned golden as is typical with vegetarian vampires. his eyes also turn black when they're thirsty. MYFACE: like other vampires, jasper has pale, marble-like skin and an inhumane beauty about him. under his golden eyes, he has bruise-like purpleish shadows which grow darker and darker as he gets thirstier. he has a strong jaw and slightly pointed chin. his nose and lips are nothing special, proportionate to his face and cute. should he ever smile (rarely), he has a dimple in each cheek. MYBODY: jasper is quite tall at 6'3, shorter than emmett by two inches but only taller than carlisle and edward by an inch. he's lean but very muscular from his years working hard labor and then working in confederate army. SPECIAL: jasper is absolutely covered in crescent shaped scars from his years of training newborns for maria's armies and then fighting with them for terrority in the southern vampire wars. they're all over his body but mostly concentrated on his throat and jaw. ======================================== ILOVE: - ALICE, alice is his whole world, his everything. there is nothing he would not do for her. his life started the day that he walked into that diner and found her waiting for him. she is his other half and he feels incomplete when she's not around. every moment with her is pure heaven as cliche as that sounds. - HIS FAMILY, next to alice, the cullens are the most important thing to jasper. they had faith in him when he had none in himself and love him even when he hated himself. he would do almost anything for them, unless it meant sacrificing alice, in which case he would chose her every time, no hesitation. - BOOKS, jasper is quite the reader. he's often reading and has storage upon storage for books in several different parts of the world. he's not entirely sure where this love came from because before the cullens the most he'd ever read were battle plans and the readers he learned out of in a one room school house. unlike some of his siblings, jasper quite likes school (besides all the people that make him hungry), he's earned several degrees and doctorates just because he loves learning. - THE OUTDOORS, jasper is a southern boy. he was born in houston but he grew up in the country and spent most of his life working and playing outdoors. even his career, serving as a solider in the confederate army, had him outdoors. jasper spends most of his time outdoors, away from where humans might witness his glittering skin of course. he enjoys running a lot, swimming, rock climbing (without equipment and very large cliffs of course), various sports with his family (when storms come). - MUSIC, edward is not the family's only musician. jasper loves music probably even more than his adoptive brother and certainly plays more instruments. he's been playing piano since he was human but favors the guitar these days. in addition to those two he plays the bass, drums, several string and horn instruments as well as few random ones he picked up in other countries over the years. IHATE: - THE VOLTURI, once he used to see them as fair and just, the only ones with strength enough to keep the southern covens in check. but then they just let victoria's army attack his family. but worse even than that is aro's desire to have alice serve him because of her gift. that is what really makes jasper hate them, the idea that they pose a threat to his wife. he knows one day they will try to come for her and they will be sorry they did because he will tear them all to pieces. - BLOOD LUST, jasper hates that the thirst for blood is always there. he doesn't want to hurt people and the possibility that he might because he can't control himself really upsets him. not to mention the blood lust makes him feel weak and there are very few feeling jasper hates more than weakness. - NO SUNSHINE, he knows that avoiding sunlight around humans is key to keeping vampires a secret but again, jasper is a southern boy. he was born and raised in texas which might not be as sunny as florida but is certainly a hell of a lot better than the places he and his family usually settle in. he hates living in rainy and snowy places but he does it for alice and for his family. - BIG CITIES, all those people and all that hussle and bussle. jasper just hates it. the cullen's think it's the blood lust thing again and all the emotions of his inhabitants and that is part of it. but really jasper just isn't cut out for city life. it makes him anxious, the building that tower and trap him in, everything packed in tight, the never ending chaos and never a moment's pause in it all. - WOLF SMELL, since the fight with victoria's army, jasper has come to like a few wolves. namely seth clearwater and jacob black, who he really is quite fond now that he's overcome his instinctive dislike. but never will he ever get over his hatred for the stink of wolves. it's disgusting and if it were possible for him to vomit at the smell of it, he would. DONTTELL: - NONE, he is not in the business of hiding who he is anymore (except to humans, of course). he learned long ago that secrets usually stem from shame and fear and as jasper has turned over a new leaf in life, keeping secrets is not something he does. he might not tell every single thing to everyone but they are not secrets, just things he chooses not to share with forwardness. besides, even if he did have secrets he would just tell alice, he tells does tell her everything. and then edward would know too because of the stupid telepathy. so no secrets. SCAREDOF: - LOSING ALICE, he fears nothing more than losing alice. he fears she will be harmed by someone with a grudge against him or his family or that the volturi will take her or even just that she will one day finally catch on to the fact that he does not deserve her. if he could sleep he would have nightmares about and if he could cry it would reduce him to tears often. - LOSING CONTROL, the time when edward was dating bella, before they were married and she was changed, was the worst for jasper. going to school was ordeal enough but then having her there in the house all the time with her scent everywhere....and then she got that papercut and jasper lost it. he fears losing control like that again all the time because the last thing he wants is to ever hurt someone again. i guess in away, jasper fears himself. he fears his self control and his strength, all of that. - HARM TO HIS FAMILY, jasper constantly worries about his family and the idea of anything bad happening to them. it's especially hard not to be fearful of it given the events of the last few years. WANTTO: - SPEND FOREVER WITH ALICE, it's going to happen despite all his worries. he will spend eternity with his beloved, his soul mate but it's always at the top of every to do and goal list he makes. - HAPPY FAMILY, jasper hopes that now things will settle down and since everyone has a mate, everyone will be happy. he wants to see nessie finish growing and marry jacob and he wants to see more additions to their family, he wants them to graduate from twenty more high schools and colleges. he just wants them all to be happy and as normal as one can get as a vegetarian vampire, half-vampire, and shapeshifter. STRENGTHS: - EMOTIONAL MANIPULATION, having been very charismatic as a human and able to bend people to his will, jasper gained the ability to feel and manipulate the emotions of others when he was changed. it's a very useful gift though he seldom uses it these days unless it's to calm his siblings or to diffuse a situation. he has to be careful he doesn't subconsciously use it though. - STRENGTH&SPEED, next to emmett and his supernatural strength, jasper is the strongest amongst the cullens. he is also the best fighter, both of these are in thanks to his military training. jasper is also faster than most vampires though not edward. as jacob has noted, jasper is "power and speed and death rolled into one." - MILITARY TRAINING, his years in the confederacy have a lot of use even these days. they helped with all the situations during all the edward/bella drama but more important than that it's the discipline that he learned and the focus which after leaving maria's he relearned and applied it to his life to help control himself. WEAKNESSES: - OVERPROTECTIVE, jasper is overprotective to the point where it becomes a bit of a problem. when bella saw edward stop that car with his inhuman strength, jasper wanted to just kill her and be done with it. had he known that alice was going to italy with bella a few months after that, he would have run off and gotten himself killed. - ALICE, while alice is a strength in most aspects, she is also jasper's biggest weakness. he would tear the world apart for her without a moment's hesitation and his judgement is clouded whenever she is concerned. it's not necessarily a bad thing but it has been used against him before. POWER: Jasper has the power of emotional manipulation meaning he can feel the emotions of those around and then manipulate them according to his wishes. His ability only lasts for as long as he is around though. ABOUTME: Jasper has a very cold exterior but that is really only appearances. Inwardly, he is a very charismatic, nice, and polite being. He is always ready to help others whenever he can, as long as it doesn't jeopardize Alice in anyway. The coldness is just a combination of his attempt to control his blood lust, a bit of military training, and years of guilt still nagging at him from all the terrible things he did while in Maria's coven. He is more open now that he has a better control over himself and he is even more open when Alice is around, she just sort of drags it out of him. Jasper is very intelligent and has a thirst for knowledge. Partly because of his military training and partly just because it's in his nature (and because that's how he mama raised him) he likes cleanliness and order, everything is always just so with Jasper. ======================================== BORNIN: Houston, Texas LIVING IN: Baton Rouge, Louisiana MOTHER: - LAURA WHITLOCK, Jasper loved his mother a great deal and was heartbroken when she died of the fever when he was just a young boy. - ESME CULLEN, Jasper is quite attached to Esme and really does see her as an adoptive mother even though he is fifty one years her senior. He was immediately drawn to her because of the patience, love, and kindness that she just oozes. FATHER: - CYRUS WHITLOCK, for the first sixteen years of Jasper's life, his father was his best friend. They were really close and his death devastated Jasper, who left their family farm to join the Confederate Army after the burial. - CARLISLE CULLEN, though Jasper was not turned by Carlisle like the others, he still has a love and attachment for Carlisle. He has been a very big influence in Jasper's new life and a pillar of strength compassion for him. SIBLINGS: - EDWARD CULLEN, Jasper and Edward are very close. There where times when they fought bitterly - because Edward was hovering and using his telepathy to make sure Jasper wasn't going to step out of bounds and because Jasper didn't always approve of the trouble Bella brought for the family. He liked her well enough but not at the expense of his family. Now though, they've pretty much moved passed that and act like any typical brothers do, teasing each other, wrestling, betting on stupid stuff, races. - BELLA CULLEN, At first, Jasper did not like Bella. He hated that she was always around, tempting him and his blood lust even further. He didn't like that she was a danger to his family and to Alice. Gradually though he began to like her, especially when she didn't despise him for almost trying to kill her and it was decided that she would become one of them. After her change and the birth of Nessie, Jasper became especially close with Bella, drawn to her amazing self control and the pure joy that she exuded near constantly. - ROSALIE HALE, Despite being his "twin", he and Rosalie are not all that close. He loves her, of course, but their personalities are not very complimentary save for their hyper competitiveness. - EMMETT CULLEN, Jasper's relationship with Emmett is much like his with Edward. They annoy each other endlessly sometimes but at the end, they're close. He enjoys the same activities with Emmett as he does with Edward. THEKIDS: No children. IMPORTANTPEEPS: - RENESMEE CULLEN, Jasper's niece is someone he is (not so secretly) really, really fond of. While the Rosalie, Esme, and Emmett vs. Edward and Carlisle ordeal was going on, Jasper was merely standing guard against Sam's pack and hoped for the best. After her birth, Jasper spent a lot of time with Nessie and Bella, acting as a guard to ensure that Bella never tried to attack her daughter. He grew very attached to her in those weeks and in the years since. He oftens takes her hunting and on outdoor adventures and will even play whatever games with her (including dolls and such as long as she promises not to tell). - JACOB BLACK, While Jasper once would have outright laughed if you'd told him that a dog would ever be listed among the important people in his life, well now he doesn't even hesitate to do so. He once hated Jacob Black, it was instinctual. Vampires and werewolves don't mix but after the fight with Victoria and the events surrounding Bella's change and Nessie's birth his opinion of Jacob has definitely changed. He admires Jacob's strength and bravery, his loyalty to those he loves, his warrior spirit. And though he still reeks of wet dog, Jasper would count Jacob as a friend. They often joke around and wrestle at times. OTHERHALF: - ALICE CULLEN, Jasper's wife of nearly sixty-five years. She is his everything. They're different than the other couples in their family. They're not showy and public like Emmett and Rosalie. There was no drama and theatrics like Edward and Bella. They were incomplete before each other, there was a hollowness in each of them but it was as easy as walking into a diner and taking her hand. THEPETS: None. GOODMEMORY: The moment Alice Cullen came into his life was definitely the best. It'd been so long since Jasper had felt anything but hatred and violence but when he walked into that half-empty Philadelphia diner and Alice said to him, "You’ve kept me waiting a long time." for the first time in a century, he felt hope. He felt his humanity again, that it hadn't been lost just badly injured. BADMEMORY: Probably just the space of time between him leaving Maria's coven and being with Peter and Charlotte. The feeling of horror and terror and the never ending depression and guilt were definitely the worst and lowest times for Jasper. HISTORY: Jasper Whitlock was born on the eleventh of November in 1844 in the great state of Texas. He was the only child of Laura and Cyrus Whitlock who were only recently wed and quite young being only eighteen when their son was born. Jasper had a fairly happy childhood though times were hard for the Whitlocks who owned a small ranch in an even smaller town. They always got by though and Jasper never went without the necessities. When he was just seven his mother died of the fever, something that would break any little boy’s heart. Jasper had his father though and so after much mourning moved on with life. Jasper began working with his father when he was very young and he was good at it. He was great at the work but best at sweet talking customers and pulling them in with that crooked smile and dimples of his. He and his father lived happily together until Cyrus’s sudden death when Jasper was sixteen. With his father’s death and no way to keep the ranch operating without him, Jasper sold the land and moved on to Houston, hoping to finding work there. In Houston, he found work alright. Jasper enlisted in the Confederate Army just shy of his seventeenth birthday. He was a good solider and being a new army, the Confederate was full of opportunities. That combined with his natural charisma enabled Jasper to rise through the ranks of the army. Before the war had even really begun in Texas, Jasper was a major. The youngest in the whole of the confederate army and that’s not even acknowledging his real age. It was on his way back to Galveston in 1862 after evacuating women and children that he met Maria. Under the impression that they were stragglers from those he had helped away from the city, Jasper immediately went to aid Maria and her two companions, Lucy and Nettie. It was a fatal mistake. Maria changed him then, his rank and military training a draw to the vampire. Like in the Confederate Army, Jasper rose quickly within Maria’s command. He quickly went from being just one of her newborn soliders to her second in command and constant companion. His primary purpose was to train the newborn army to fight and then dispose of them when Maria felt they were no longer useful. After several years of building armies and fighting for territory, Jasper befriended a newborn named Peter, who left when his mate, another newborn called Charlotte was to be eliminated. Instead of chasing them down and being rid of them both, Jasper let them go. After Peter’s departure, Jasper fell into a depression. Years of having felt all the feelings of those he fed on, those he changed, and those he disposed of had finally caught up to him. Just when he was close to turning on Maria and killing her, Peter and Charlotte returned to see Jasper. They told him of how things in the North were different from what Maria had led them all to believe. With this news, Jasper left Maria’s coven with so much as a backward glance. He lived a few years with Peter and Charlotte and though he was happier than at Maria’s, he was still depressed. The combination of guilt from his past and the sensation of experiencing the terror and horror from his victims when he fed was too much for Jasper and he left Charlotte and Peter, who were still feeding from humans even if they didn’t want to fight. He wandered for, well he’s not exactly sure how long, but he just sort of drifted. He tired to abstain from feeding but he would get too thirsty and break anytime he caught smell of a human. In a small rundown, half empty Philadelphia diner that he just ducked into to avoid drawing attention, everything changed. Jasper recognized her as a vampire the moment he entered and she hopped off that stool and came towards him. He was frightened, afraid she would attack him right there but she was smiling and the emotions radiating off her, joy, hope, excitement, love were like nothing he had ever felt before. He was in love as soon as she looked up at him and said, “You’ve kept me waiting a long time.” And though it made no kind of sense to him, when she stuck out her hand he took it without a moment’s hesitation. And there, for the first time since being a human, he felt hope. After that, Jasper would have followed Alice anywhere and he did. Her visions led them to Cullens who took them in and began to teach them how to live on the blood of animals instead of humans. This transition into the vegetarian lifestyle was one that Jasper had a difficult time with. After a century of instant gratification and feeding off of humans, animal blood was not appealing to him and while it kept up his strength it in no way satisfied his blood lust. The entrance of Bella into the Cullen’s lives made it that much more difficult for Jasper to control his blood lust, what with her being around all the time and her scent lingering even when she wasn’t. Not to mention that he was concerned about the threat she posed to Alice and his family. As he told Edward, he wasn’t going to have Alice living in danger, even in slight danger. But Alice was very against the idea of he, Emmett, and Rosalie killing her and Edward went and fell in love with her so he reluctantly accepted her. When James set his sights on Bella , Jasper and Alice accompanied Bella into hiding, using his calming ability to keep Bella in check. When she escapes their care, Jasper helps the Cullens find Bella and helps Emmett destroy James by ripping him apart and setting him ablaze. Things were good until Bella’s eighteenth birthday party. Bella, ever the klutz, got a paper cut while opening her presents and the smell of fresh blood sent Jasper into a frenzy. Emmett and Edward were able to stop him before he even laid a finger on Bella but Jasper felt terribly about it, especially since the family moved away after that and Jasper could sense all of Edward’s heartbreak and loneliness. After the events surrounding Italy, Bella was told that Alice had seen that she became a vampire and the Cullens voted on whether she should be made into a vampire. Jasper voted yes, of course, because “it would be nice not to want to kill you the time”. When the Cullens learned of the newborn army being raised by Victoria, Jasper was the one to train both the Cullens and the Quileute pack by demonstrating the strengths and weaknesses of a newborn in sparring matches. Jasper escaped the battle with several kills and very few injuries to show for it, just a few bites from newborns (which he wouldn't have gotten if he had just minded his own business and not trying to protect Alice). After Bella and Edward’s wedding, Bella’s pregnancy soon followed and Jwhile Jasper agreed that it should be aborted for Bella's health, he mostly stayed out of it and kept guard to protect the family in case Paul's pack tried to attack. After Renesmee’s birth and Bella’s transformation, Jasper was amazed by how much control Bella had, which was a big part of Jasper taking more control over his own blood lust. When Irina’s accusation caused Alice to see the Volturi coming, Jasper flees with her to South America to find someone who had knowledge about their adoptive niece’s species. They find a male hybrid by the name of Nahuel in Chile, who they bring to Forks in time to prevent a massive battle ======================================== ALIAS: mac HOWYOUFOUNDUS: caution 2.0 OTHERCHARACTERS: none RP SAMPLE: It was dangerous, he knew, sneaking out of the castle like this. More dangerous than the little caricatures of Alecto and Amycus Carrow he liked to paint on the castle walls with Ginny and the other members of Dumbledore's Army. It was stupid of him to risk not only himself but Ginny when really if they got clever enough, they could use any of number of places within the castle for their clandestine planning session. But the Shrieking Shack offered absolute privacy whereas they risked discovery in the dungeons or towers or wherever they would have ended up meeting and, truthfully, the Shrieking Shack held a certain sort of freedom that could no longer be found within the walls of the school for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hogwarts was a dark place now, under the control of Lord Voldemort, and held only negative feelings especially now that Luna had been taken by the Death Eaters and only he and Ginny remained to head the DA. Neville was scared, more terrified than he had ever been in his long and mortifying history as a coward. He was petrified for his peers and the Order members out in the world fighting, fearful of what the future held and afraid of what the next detention with the Carrows would hold for him. But it had finally come to the time when showing his fears weren't an option because the task at hand, defying the Dark Lord and his army in any way possible, was much more important that being a sniveling coward. So yeah, he knew it was a bad idea to sneak off to the Shrieking Shack when there was no REAL pressing need to meet but he didn't hesitate, he kept close behind Ginny his eyes peeled for any movement, ears perked for any sound. Because who knew? Maybe this would yield some idea, something more useful than graffiti-ing walls. He pulled off his hat upon emerging from the tunnels, his nose wrinkling as he tried to resist the urge to sneeze at the clouds of dust they had kicked up upon arrival. His hazel eyes searched the room, it didn't look as if anyone had been in here but just to be safe he pulled his wand from the waistband of his pants and muttered, "Homenum Revelio." When nothing happened, Neville nodded in satisfaction and dumped his bag on the floor, quickly shedding his outer garments, flinching as the movements pulled on the barely healing wounds the Carrows had cut into him as punishment for having been overheard making remarks about where the Dark Army could stick it. He gently perched on the edge of wobbly, dusty, chewed couch, flinching again, and fixed Ginny with an examining look. She had that far off look again, the one she so often had these days. The one she got when she thought of her family, Ron, Hermione, and of course, Harry.
