Once in a blue moon, he’ll grow it out so that it almost reaches his shoulders, but he always gets it cut right before he starts looking shaggy. Though some would think that Gus spends a great deal of time making his hair look the way it is… he actually just rolls out of bed and that’s how it seems to fall. He has considerably soft hair, even his facial hair is softer to the touch, something that he comments that girls like more than the wiry feeling of some others five o’clock shadow. MYEYES: Like his father, Gus used to have particularly blue eyes that some could consider piercing. Gus used them to his advantage, almost like a dashing accessory to his face. Now they are the crimson red that they were meant to be as always. They are shaped similarly to his father’s as well, anyone could tell whose child he was with his eyes. They seem to shimmer in the sunlight, particularly when Gus is scheming some misdeed or working with fire and knives. MYFACE: It would be a crime to not admit that Mr. Vulcan does not have a handsome face. It’s actually quite hard to define. It’s similar to his father with more of a rounded appeal. It also carries more youth both because he is younger and doesn’t know the pain his father knows. One genetic thing that seems to shine through is that there always seems to be stubborn five o’clock shadow that clung to his face. He can’t quite get away from it. MYBODY: Augustus was working out when his muscles were at the peak of their youthful perfection and his body gained much muscle before his transformation. His body is now carved into a lovely form of masculine perfection. He also has a good deal of hair on him, mostly because, unlike his father, he never tried to keep it hidden with waxing or shaving. It seems that he was just supposed to be a hairy chested man and it looks good on him. SPECIAL: Gus has a few tattoos. He has an A on one arm for Augustus and the name in graffiti like text that says Vulcan with a Taurus on the other side. He had bite marks on his body from being in the child of the moon’s mouth. ======================================== ILOVE: Theo Torture Cigars Red Power Blood Women Fire Family Gambling Relaxing Fighting History Knives IHATE: Morons Discrimination Veggies Shifters The Voturi Pacifists Strife Waiting Losing Books; Kindles are the way to go. Black/sword-smithing Piano Clarinet<-which he hates Guitar Math genius Stock Market player Amazing Gamer POWER: PYROKINESIS Augustus has one of the most deadly powers to vampire kind. He has the ability to create, manipulate, and disintegrate fire. Immediately one would think that this power is like that of a god for a vampire to be able to manipulate fire without recompense but that is not the case with Gus. As he gets older, it is getting easier for him to create more fire—it’s suggested that in the next fifty years, he will be able to create and manipulate large amounts of fire with little recompense besides needing great amounts of blood. At the moment, to create the amount of fire that would be equivalent to his own body weight needs two human individuals of his size’s blood into his system and immediately following he would have to feed again. Unfortunately for poor Gus, the only fire he controls is the bright red flames that he creates from his body. When Gus is drenched in water, he cannot produce flames, but rather sparks from his finger tips and has to get completely dry before he can produce fire again. The hot headed nature of Augustus Vulcan, including his obsession with fire as a youth, led to the power of fire creation and manipulation. This power projects fire from his limbs, sometimes it ranges from a small flame that would range from the flame of a store bought lighter to an inferno that could engulf a man. His fire is also noticeably pure red like the blood that his body converts to fuel. His small flames are much easier for him to make and sustain for a good amount of time. weaknesses : -Visible! Extremely visible! When a guy is shooting flames from his fingers, you tend to notice… -For a man sized inferno, he needs to drink a LOT of blood, he would need at least two men of his size or more to be able to get it going and even then it is dangerous for his health as it completely drains him of the blood he’s consumed. Even if he uses the small flame in excess can drain him; however, it takes a good seventy-seven hours of none stop fire. -Though it can burn a vampire, with the exception of being torn to sunder then burned, it cannot kill one (aka, cannot kill someone who is not willing to die in RP sense but it can sure as hell hurt them) -With the exception of a curve in the wind, the straight fire does not bend therefore can be easily dodged. -Becomes somewhat uncontrollable when Gus is particularly angry. -DANGEROUS, he can unintentionally hurt someone he knows and loves. -Can only control HIS fire -If Gus is wet*, it only creates sparks, thus his nickname Sparky - FIREFOOTFLIGHT: He will need more blood than making a man sized inferno; he will only be able to use this for a short period of time (twenty minutes); it will destroy his shoes :/, flight fire can’t burn anyone, only clothing strength : -LETHAL -Cannot burn Gus, just his clothing. -destructive -Self-sustaining -Can light anything flammable. -*Can respawn after wetted down if Gus is present but only if his body is not wet -With proper training, he will be able to shoot fire from his feet and propel himself into the air for an amount of time; currently, he cannot do this -Intimidating if nothing else -Never needs a lighter? ABOUTME: Not too long ago, anyone that met Augustus and his father, they would have commented on the likeness of the pair. Gus prided himself on loyalty and intelligence but failed to keep his temper frequently. Yet his remarking resemblance to his father’s characteristics carried from his mannerisms to calling individuals by their full names instead of nicknames (a habit that he has kicked in recent years). He is almost like a carbon copy of his father; his loyalty and lack of fear define him as Paul Vulcan’s son and a grand solider. Gus does break from this model however when it comes to his more demanding characteristics such as his outgoing persona and his explosive temper that is sometimes kept in check but sometimes completely uncontrollable. As a child, there was nothing that Gus desired more than to be just like his dad and in the end he got what he wanted, but remained being Augustus without blending into his father’s footsteps as his shadow in every way shape and form. The previous descriptions would make one think that Gus is nothing but a follower who needs his father to lead him anywhere. Of course, to most individuals Gus would simply reply, ‘at least he doesn’t touch me at night like your father does.’ Many of the Vulcans are known for their quick and somewhat dry sarcastic humor. This amount of wit makes them a formidable opponent in a battle of words. The fact that most keep their cool is also an annoyance factor in such a great battle. His temper is the most explosive part of his personality; though it takes quite a bit to set Gus off, when he goes off, he goes off big in a fiery explosion of both words and most of the time fighting. He isn’t sure that he got this from his father, but there isn’t a lot that he remembers about his mother. He believes this has a direct relation to his ability to fight efficiently. This is also something that he believes makes him very intimidating. This is particularly more intimidating now that his father is gone and he doesn’t display many emotions. Gus seems to be very disconnected from the world, almost as if he’s wandering through a forest of pure imagination with no real direction or knowledge of where exactly he is going, he seems to be waiting for someone to reach out a hand and pull him out of his daze. Right now, it would take a miracle to get him out of his vindictive daze. On a completely unrelated note, Gus is also a genius. Maybe it was the private tutors or the home schooling but Gus was always able to take complex math and solve it almost effortlessly, he is a master of statistics and probability which makes him a master of the stock market. He knows when to sell and when to buy which makes him a very rich man and a very desirable man for stock brokers. He uses this intellect for his own personal gain, of course, and has no desire to join up with any company to share his secrets. He uses them for himself and no one else… unless of course, they’re family in which case, he’ll make sure that they get the best bang for their buck, even if it’s taking five dollars and only getting back ten. ======================================== BORNIN: Clarkeville, Georgia, USA LIVING IN: Baton Rogue, Louisiana, USA MOTHER: ROSEMARY ELIZABETH SMITH FATHER: PAUL XAVIER VULCAN The old man was like his older version; he was the most awesome thing to walk on the face of the earth. Gus loves his dad, even if he did call him Augustus all the time and would do anything for him. He knows that his dad, though he didn’t know how to show it, loved him too and is quite aware how proud he made him. It brings joy to him especially to know that his dad was happy with him. Gus and Paul were attacked while in Europe, escaping the persecution of the Devilles, he watched his father turn from a strong man to very weak as he saw him begin to regret his actions. SIBLINGS: ANTHONY JAMES VULCAN- Twin brother Tony is his only full sibling and the only sibling he has by his mother. Tony is probably his favorite sibling, though he’ll never tell him that. AARON SAMUEL VULCAN Aaron is Gus’s younger half brother. He and Aaron have a lot in common with the exception of the fact that Aaron is a half vampire and a doctor. His brother is pretty much bipolar, with a persona for his family and one for his time at the hospital. JACOB HANSEN SMITH Half brother that let Gus know that their mother was dead CHARLOTTE VICTORIA VULCAN His much younger sister, he was around when she was a kid, but she eventually moved away and he hasn’t really seen her since. CAMERON LUCIUS VULCAN Cam was really young when Gus left the Devilles to start the original Vulcan Coven. CATHYRN ISABELLE VULCAN Gus doesn’t really know her well but he would be proud to know that she now has the Vulcan coven under control. THEKIDS: IMPORTANTPEEPS: DANNA REGINE DEVILLE Danna was his father’s old lover and the one that he left which caused the Vulcans flee to Europe. Gus doesn’t necessarily blame Danna for the death of his father, but he is well aware that leaving her was the main reason that his father became so weak. OTHERHALF: THEO CATHERINE BURDAN -more info to come-…. Basically what you need to know is that he’s pretty much obsessed with her in a strange way. THEPETS: SPIKE He got a dog—he injected it with his venom. He doesn’t know if it did anything, but it won’t eat anything but raw meat and kibbles—he hasn’t tried anything else. The dog is well trained though. It’s a full grown German shepherd. GOODMEMORY: It started with a kiss—yes a simple kiss. She’d been a vampire maybe twenty minutes and his heart hadn’t beat for many years but if it could beat, it would pound out in his chest. The process of tearing his eyes away from her would be too hard for him once the ball got rolling. Hands were wandering, lips were hardly separated, clothes were finding their way to the floor then—FADE TO BLACK-- Lord only knew how they ended up in the bathroom when they started at one side of the room the beds were broken, the wall had given way… but all he cared about was the woman cuddled into him at the moment… too bad this moment couldn’t last forever. BADMEMORY: Gus and Paul wandered the world, but it was becoming increasingly obvious that Paul regretted his decision to leave. Gus and Paul were growing apart, not that Paul really felt much anymore. They had been settled in the French country side when a pack of nomadic children of the moon came through, on the night of the full moon no less. Gus and Paul got engaged in a fight with one of them and were basically thrown about crazily, at one point, Gus was actually in the mouth of the beast and bitten until he scorched the animals throat, saving himself, but barely. His father lead the beast away and in the night, Gus could hear the cry, and then in the morning life, he could see small flames in the direction that his father had gone… he ran that way and when he got there, he found that his father’s scent stopped in a pile of ash… Gus was alone… HISTORY: Augustus Paul Gabriel was born on Hollows Eve in eighteen sixty three by his single mother who had gotten pregnant when she found herself in favor of a confederate soldier named Paul Gabriel. Private Gabriel accepted his children only by letter and told her to keep them hushed up and away from his father’s plantation. In the midst of the civil war, it wasn’t certain if his father would ever return to the family. Rose was shunned by the community and though her children were well fed and properly raised, they were outcasts from society as the bastard sons of a confederate soldier. Often people spoke horrible obscenities towards Rose and often she would stay awake crying waiting for another letter from her soldier. It was in 1866 that they stopped coming; the last note simply said that he would see her soon as the fighting was over and it was time to return to civilian life. As most all know, Paul made his bloody stop in Georgia before he came to Rosemary, a changed man. He married her that night making right on his rightful duties as a father to make his children fathered. Of course, Paul was a different man when he came back and Rosemary was aware that he must stay away from the children when his eyes were black. It was here that Gus learned of his father’s true strength and restraint. Gus grew to respect his father for his great power in controlling himself to keep his family safe from his own wrath. Perhaps the hardest thing for Gus was when his mother finally turned the age that his father had been frozen at, she had been but sixteen when she got pregnant and at twenty-four she begged him to change her. The sight of his mother changing forced Gus to realize that his father was not human but instead of being afraid of this, he richly embraced it and decided to make it his life mission to one day be just like his dad. Young at the time, Gus was more eager than his shy brother Tony, who seemed to be a bit off in the head. The family didn’t care much that Tony wasn’t as sound as the others, Paul refused to send him to an asylum as he was still his son and no son of his would ever have to deal with the fate that he would have had to deal with if his mother would have barred his father another child. Paul was particularly fond of both of his children. He often taught them how to properly hunt and constantly made sure they were well fed and strong. Paul insisted that they were both properly educated and paid for a private tutor and a scholar that would teach his children the finest. As a child, Gus had severe problems sleeping and during the summer when it was hot and sticking outside, he would crawl into his father’s lap and fall asleep against him after a long amount of being gently rocked by his father. Gus constantly tried to be just like his father. He would follow in his footsteps one by one. He would often leap from one foot print to the next which amused his father greatly. Gus attempted to read everything he got his hands on, just like his father did in his later days. Paul recognized the genius in his son and was immensely proud of him. Gus was still young when he repeatedly asked to be a vampire just like his father; only Paul kept telling him to wait which admittedly annoyed Gus greatly. The skillfully little boy often thought of ways to force his father to change him. Of course, all of these methods didn’t work as his animal blood theories failed and his attempts to pretend to be sick also failed. He hadn’t known at the time just how acute his father’s hearing and sense of smell had been. Paul told him to be patient and things would gradually come to him. Of course, Gus rather have his way immediately, but he gradually began to get over it as he got older. His want to be a vampire never diminished by his age, but his understanding of why he couldn’t be changed immediately started to grow. Paul didn’t want his son frozen in a child’s body as he was much too smart to be forced to be looked down upon for the rest of his life. There was no lie that Paul had no idea about immortal children, he just wanted his boys not to be silenced by the young and stupid when they were twenty or thirty years older than the individual. As Augustus and Anthony grew, so did Paul’s pride for them and Gus could tell. He did his best to keep his father’s approval, which wasn’t very hard considering the abundance of love that Paul had for his boys. However, there was a strain with their mother, who demanded her own independence from Paul when the boys were fourteen. It did not shock Gus when Paul granted her pardon without complication. Their marriage had been based on children and she did not much care for the children such as Paul did, seeing them more as burdens. Secretly, this hurt Gus, as he did adore his mother as a child, just as Paul had. The idea that she didn’t want them or love them hurt his pride greatly. He still adored his mother despite her detachment from them. Paul went as far as to help her arrange a new marriage and because she had little control compared to the veteran, he changed her new partner. Despite the failed marriage, the duo decided it would be best to travel together as Rosemary was not quite as intelligent as Paul had been about covering his tracks now that he was more than aware of the medical field and keeping up with the newest technology. Gus was about twenty five when his mother finally left them. Gus recalled moving frequently and the teacher would always change. He never got too comfortable with one. He often thought that his father would turn them into snacks if he did not like them and was amused by the thought of it. He wondered what life would be like when he could turn undesirables into snacks. Of course, Gus always wondered what it would be like to be a vampire and began to ask again and Paul continued to tell him he wasn’t ready yet. Finally, Gus got fed up with he wasn’t ready yet. At twenty-one years old, Gus found a vampire man at a bar and made a bet with him that if he could beat him at pool; he would change him. Needless to say, after years and years of practice with his father who still beat him at billiards, Gus was extremely good. He worked his magic and managed to win without even letting him have a turn. Surprisingly, he stood by his word and changed him. As a result, Paul had to change Tony before Gus tried to eat him. Together the vampire family moved along in the world with the few additions along the way. In one town they were run out by a vegetarian who would take Gus’s half brother, Aaron a hybrid, under his wing. It would be many years before they saw Aaron again but when they did they had a solid relationship with him before he went off to Hollywood to produce a story about his family, especially when their father killed the slaves on his old plantation as well as their grandfather. Gus can’t wait to see the movie now that Aaron says it’s in production and the filming has ceased. Gus briefly fell in love with a human girl named Theo while watching her from afar. He had the most problem knowing whether or not to eat her or love her; however, Gus was aware that loving her could produce a half vampire off spring, and for the most part, he was afraid that his love would die before she was able to really live. So he continued to watch her, waiting for the perfect opportunity to change her as his father trained him to have the proper restraint to change her. He helped her when a police officer had her cornered for a petty theft, something that Gus was well aware of because of what he knew about her family… he wanted very badly to be able to go to her and offer his help but something about her told him that she didn’t want his help, or anyone else’s for that matter. He didn’t stick around very long after getting rid of the police officer. AT the time, they still went by the last name Gabriel, and he wasn’t about to be snipped about the ‘arch-angel’ bullshit. Knowing that the only way Theo would accept help was through carefully placing himself in a position that she could steal from him. He placed a good deal of money in his back pocket in a wallet with one of his fake ids and was not surprised when she stole it from his back pocket. He hoped it did her well for just a little while. The second time he met her officially, she had been attacked by a man intending to sleep with her. Gus killed this man in a fit of rage and saw that she was severely injured… afraid that she would simply die, he decided to change her. Theo didn’t really take well to being a vampire and after a little bit of an argument, and ‘accidently’ sleeping together. Theo left the next day, and Gus tried to follow her but he couldn’t really keep up with her. He didn’t really get to teach her the ways, he tried to warn her about the Volturi but she was gone long before he could really talk to her. He is terrified that she’s lost forever, and is currently looking for her, knowing that she was from the Southern portion of the country much like himself. His father dragged him out of the South after a little while and they moved up to Forks. In Forks, they met the Devilles, when they first joined, Gus stayed in the background. He didn’t even let them know that he was Paul’s son, instead going by the more ironic last name Gabriel. It was becoming increasingly obvious that this was the right coven for the pair but Gus watched his father carefully, there was something careful about his father and his loyalties. He was beginning to realize that his father had fallen for the vixen Danna. Danna had a husband at the time, and ran away with a lover which made Paul grab Gus and Aaron and take off for a little while, when they returned Danna was finally alone but depressed. Paul seemed to be apprehensive to say anything about his own feelings but grew jealous of her relationship with her brother which had excelled the level of decency which was mostly practiced by those around them. Around this time, they caught up with Rosemary once more, only to find that an unknown force killed her. A half brother, Jacob Smith let Gus know that a group of vampires had killed their mother. Jacob was powerless and a vegetarian at that, he said that he wanted to avenge their mother and Gus basically walked all over him telling him that he would do it and that Jacob could just go back to being an unnatural fool. Things only got worse as time got on, Danna had accumulated quite a few enemies and to help with this effort, Tony and Gus split into the Vulcan Coven, the original. Gus was at the lead. About this time, Danna and Paul started their sorted affair. Children were beginning to be born, and finally a war broke out; the Vulcans participated as they had in many wars over the last few years, Paul having more under his belt than his children. Tony got caught in one of the cross fires, and Paul had to stop Gus from foolishly running forward to save his brother in this hopeless situation. The two of them watched Tony tortured slowly and killed. Gus had his biggest fight with his father that night, but realized that Paul had been protecting him when the plot was devised. Unfortunately, Gus was never able to exact his revenge as his father chickened out of his engagement with Danna, terrified that he would become the third husband, something that he couldn’t handle so before he could have his heart torn apart, he left, Gus followed after, not knowing that Christian Davek faked his father’s death when they left. Gus and Paul wandered the world, but it was becoming increasingly obvious that Paul regretted his decision to leave. He went south in hopes that he could find something to distract him, that and he knew that the pack had gotten plane tickets out of the country and heading to America…. Gus has a major vendetta now, and the firey young man intends to carry them all out to the end. ======================================== ALIAS: RJ HOWYOUFOUNDUS: -shrugs- OTHERCHARACTERS: Victor RP SAMPLE: here augustus paul vulcan |
