She is terrified of love and terrified of sex and enjoys herself with flirting and teasing men, but never goes farther than that and never hangs around people long enough to get caught up with connections. Despite wanting to keep herself safe, she is quite lonely and often craves the company of others and she craves companionship, though she is too scared of the repercussions to really go there. HISTORY: Maggie was your average everyday irresponsible teenage slut. One night a boyfriend took her to a party and got her drunk to have sex with her and ever since she had a blast. At least until she got pregnant at 16. She had no idea who the father of her child was and no one was willing to take a paternity test or anything. Her parents kicked her out of her house and she spent the duration of her pregnancy living in a cramped apartment with her severely Christian Uncle Eustace. Around the time she would have started her senior year, she gave birth to a baby girl named Theodora. Maggie liked to call her Dora or Doreen for short. Just a few months after Dora was born, Maggie left her Uncle Eustace's house. She was too fed up with having religion shoved down her throat and being beaten for every little sin. Maggie and Dora only lived on the streets for a few days before Maggie found a job at a local strip club. The manager was a middle aged woman who liked to care for and play with Dora while Maggie worked. She made great money...At least to her it was good and easy money. She was able to afford a small trailer where she moved in with Dora. They still struggled to survive. Food was hard to come by and they rarely had running water, air conditioning, or electricity. Still, they managed to survive. When Dora was a year old the manager, Tracy Goodman, and the owner of the strip club, Vernon Ashley, talked to Maggie about a better opportunity. Prostitution was not on Maggie's list of goals in life, but it wasn't like she was some moral virgin and she did have a daughter to care for. Maggie agreed and worked partially as a stripper and partially as a whore. All the while Tracy happily took care of Dora. After only a few months, Maggie became pregnant and had to rely solely on prostitution. To her surprise, there were plenty of men with strange kinks who enjoyed fucking pregnant women. Dora was two years old when Maggie gave birth to another daughter named Phillipa, who they all called Pippa or Pippy, sometimes even Pipsqueak. After her birth, Maggie was able to return to her stripping job, but having a second baby made life even harder. Sometimes Maggie and the girls would go days without eating. Finally Maggie found another opportunity: selling drugs. It didn't help that Maggie got herself hooked on drugs in the process, but she was able to manage a little better...At least for a little while. The more addicted Maggie got the more money went to drugs. It was even harder when Maggie became pregnant yet again when Dora was almost five. She had a son named Carlton and was pregnant again just a month after his birth. Henrietta aka Etta followed Carl. Carl and Etta both were born hooked on drugs and very sick and it was up to Dora and Pippa to take care of them the best they could, trying to ween them off of the drugs. They could never take them to the doctor due to lack of money and also to keep Maggie from being arrested. Somehow the two survived, which was a miracle. Pippa believed it was a blessing from God and she turned to religion while Dora couldn't see how anything good came out of having more mouths to feed. Dora and Pippa took to stealing. They learned how to shoplift and pick pocket and since they were too young to get into any real trouble, they easily continued doing it and continued getting better. They still didn't have enough for a good life, but they did manage to survive. Dora had to miss more school than was allowed in order to care for her siblings, but she strove to do very well and worked her ass off from a young age to do well. Her grades were only decent, despite all of her hard work, but she was better off than Pippa who failed two grades while just in elementary school. Maggie was getting worse and worse over the years. The time Dora was ten Maggie was pregnant again with a boy named George. Like Carl and Etta had been, he came out addicted to drugs and they had to take care of him. Dora came so close to failing school that year and passed all of her classes just barely. Seeing how well Dora was doing and knowing how bad she always did, Pippa decided to take more responsibility for George to let Dora have more time with her studying so she would do better with school. Dora let herself dedicate more time to her studies, though she felt bad about leaving Pippa responsible for the younger three. She made herself feel better by telling herself that if she did good in school she would be able to take care of them all better when she would get a good, responsible and legal job. When Dora was thirteen, Maggie became pregnant yet again. During her pregnancy she found out she had AIDS. Matthew "Matt" Burdan was born with HIV. The sicker Maggie got the less she could do. She lost her job as a stripper and a prostitute and even selling drugs was doing her no good. Matt died shortly after his second birthday and Maggie spent more and more time in bed while Dora and Pippa were forced to get jobs. Her drug usage with her disease made things impossible. Maggie died shortly after Dora turned sixteen. Dora, Pippa, Carl, Etta, and George were placed in foster care. They were given to a very loving family, but Dora didn't trust them. She found it hard to trust much of anyone. She continued stealing, though she didn't have any real need to. They were all taken to doctors and dentists and other things and they were able to focus more on school. The moment she graduated high school, Theo was gone. She didn't want to be around her foster family anymore and even though she still loved her siblings and still felt responsible for them, she felt like she might go crazy if she stayed. She got accepted into NSU, a college in Natchitoches, Louisiana, but at the last second she decided not to go. She wanted to go to college to provide for her family, but they had their foster parents, Angela and Joey Perkins, to care for them. Theo didn't even know what she wanted to do with her life, so instead she picked up a part time job as a waitress and moved in with a few school friends. It didn't last long. Theo hated working and she felt very restless and stir crazy. She left in the middle of the night, stealing a black Porsche and driving from Tyler to Dallas. She survived by stealing things the way she had her whole life. She stayed in empty houses for a when she could and stayed in hotels other times. She couldn't sit still and was too afraid of settling down in an area and growing attached to people and things and just getting hurt and burdened the way her mother had left her. It was a good life, but even her years of practice stealing wasn't perfect and the self defense she had practiced since middle school wasn't perfect. She was good, but she wasn't meant to be the best all the time. She got caught by the police a few times, but mostly managed to escape. Life was good until she was twenty two and after leaving a bar with more money than she could count from games of pool men had been too cocky with. One man from the bar tried to seduce her and when that didn't work he attacked her and might have raped her if she hadn't been rescued. She was badly hurt and drifting in and out of consciousness and she swore she was going to die, especially when that piercing burning pain hit. She was a bit surprised to wake up and learn that she was a vampire. The man who changed her was Gus and for a while Theo hated him. She didn't believe what she was, even when it was too hard to deny. She didn't like it and it was so strange and so weird it was hard to accept. Still, despite all of her anger she felt some strange attachment to the man named Gus, even if she barely knew him. It was alarming, really, and even more so when one argument led to her losing her virginity to him, something she never wanted to do. Love and sex were two of the worst things in Theo's mind and in a panic she left him there. She's traveled around ever since, exploring all of Texas and New Mexico and was settled in Mississippi for a while. Ever since her run in with Gus she's come to accept what she is, but is even more wary of people now. She barely knew him and somehow he had an impact on her. She thinks about him from time to time, even today, but she ignores it and moves on with life, knowing that love is a curse and she was only glad that sex hadn't produced any of the horrible things it had done to her mother.
