The Cullen Family and a few of the Wolves have left the comfort of cold and rainy Forks, Washington for hot and sunny Wichita Falls, Texas as a request from Jasper's brother in arms Peter. However, along their travels to Wichita Falls, Rosalie and Emmett had taken in a few children of their own. Elliot and Lena Reising are a brother and sister duo who had been changed as a warning to their community for reading too far into the disappearance of fellow neighbors. Both have been with the Cullens for two years now and are learning the rewards of being Vegetarian Vampires. And as a gift in return, Lena's unique gift of an expandable illusion shield allows the Cullens, her brother, and herself to be out in the sun without having to worry about sparkling and exposing what they are.
Upon arriving in Wichita Falls, the majority of the Cullens and all of the Wolves have fallen in love with the Southern Comfort that is Wichita Falls, but for Alice, Edward, and Bella, something does not feel right. Could it be the fact that a vampiric coven and a wolf-shifter pack already claim Wichita Falls as their home, yet accepted the Cullens and Quileutes with open southern hospitality? Is it the fact that Peter, Charlotte, and Maria are staying fairly close to the Cullens as if trying to conceal a secret that could cause a ripple in the Cullen Family? Does these occurances have to deal with a secret of a member in the Wichita Falls Coven who looks and acts like Jasper more than Coven wants to acknowlegde? Plus, why are two of the Wichita Falls shifters; Alpha Everetz and Beta Novak interested in the Leah Clearwater and Embry Call of the Olympic shifters?
And lest not forget the several other covens that call Texas their home. In what ways are these covens commrands or foes? Which members of these covens do not appreciate the arrival of the Cullens and Wolves and feel threaten by their presence? And which several coven members will find the presence of the Cullens and Wolves to be amusing and entertaining, especially the arrival of the oh so famous Southern Vampiric War General Jasper Whitlock Hale?
