The very first child of Penelope and Kevin, he was born shortly after the two were married and before Kevin realized what he wanted to do. For a time he was the only child, he was showered with attention and though he was still only a baby, he loved every moment of it. There isn’t a whole lot he remembers during this time…but he does remember Phoebe, when she first started coming around. He didn’t like it, it was very strange to him. A woman around, a woman who wasn’t his Mother taking care of him. It wasn’t all the time but sometimes he would cry and whine for his Mother whenever Phoebe was around him. To add to his displeasure, around his second birthday, he wasn’t the only child in the house. When Phoebe gave birth to Laurie he was anything but happy about it. Some attention was taken away from him and any at all was a problem. Of course with Laurie…it was a lot easier for Donovan to warm up to her than Phoebe. He still didn’t love her or anything like that, but curiosity won over and so he was more willing to be around her. Just when he started to get used to how things were, his world was once again turned upside down. Not long after his fourth birthday, there were two more additions to the family. Two more daughters, Vanna from his Mother Penelope and Shane from Phoebe. Once again Donovan distanced himself, he even ran away a few times…of course never getting far. He’d always go to the playground and wait there for his Mother to notice he was gone and come get him. He didn’t like change, and he didn’t like sharing his family…it was getting bigger and the bigger it got, the more he felt like he wasn’t being noticed. When after another two years, he finally got a brother….Donovan didn’t mind things. He was the oldest, something that he felt would always make him the most important. He had a brother finally, so it was hard for him not to be a little bit happy at least. Richard was born, and then Johnny a year after that and Liv a year after that. By this time, Donovan was 8 years old and more than used to the lifestyle of his family. Now the one good thing about having such a large family, getting away with things is a lot easier. He grew up and went through school, never caring enough to actually put a tone of effort into it. Donovan isn’t an idiot, he’d get great grades if he tried…he just didn’t feel it was worth the effort. With his charm and good looks he always managed to talk himself out of trouble when he got into it. Donovan overall is extremely laid back and has the ‘I don’t let anything get to me’ attitude. But that’s just to hide how he really feels…he doesn’t want to be seen as weak and so he chooses to act like he doesn’t care. One of the few times he let his emotions get the best of him was right before the first time he shifted…it was during an argument with his Father. Once he calmed down, he was thrilled he gained his Father’s gene. As much as he loves his Mother…humans are really boring.
