Decimated Dreams -

I WOULD LIKE to invite you: to our site, Decimated Dreams. It is a new role playing game based on the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series.

WE CURRENTLY ALLOW: animators, necromancers, bounty hunters, humans, federal marshals, New Orleans police department employees, regional preternatural investigation task force, psychics and or humans with special powers, vampires, werewolves (wolves), wereleopards (leopards), werelions (lions), werehyenas (hyenas), wereswans (swans), wererats (rats), werefoxes (foxes), werebears (bears), weresnakes (snakes), kelpies, selkies, demons and angels.

WE ARE SET in: New Orleans, Louisiana. The year is 2011.

WE HAVE NO major plot: But our storyline is - The year is 2011. For over five hundred years humans have known about the existence of supernatural’s. And instead of the humans being dominated by the other creatures, they themselves have done the dominating.

In recent years however vampires have had laws passed to acknowledge them as persons. But vampires are still restricted in many ways. For example: vampires can turn humans that are willing but they must be older than 18 years of age. And there must be paper work filed along with an interview to decide if said person can become a vampire. If anyone under the age of 18 has been turned into a vampire their parents can have a Vampire Executioner kill their vampire child. If anyone encounters a vampire child they are usually quite old. You must get permission to feed and cannot steal blood from a human.

In some states it is perfectly legal to kill any were type animal such as a werewolf. Werewolves have not received the same PR or Public Relations as the vampires have and are seen as worse than cockroaches in the eyes of humans. Werewolfism is as terrifying as catching HIV. Bounties on werewolves start at $30,000 American dollars. Were’s do so in secret and do not flaunt or advertise their ‘disease’. It is illegal for a were to make another, punishable by death in all states! If you get scratched by a werewolf you will be given a shot of another were species and this will prevent you from becoming a werewolf. There were also some shots that prevented being a werewolf but ended up being a bad batch and making everyone who took the shot a werewolf.

Humans for the most part live in peace with the supernatural. The younger generation of human teenagers likes to date vampires and it is seen as cool. Despite knowing of each other’s existence and having ancestors growing up around other species there is still a degree of hostility, especially among the older generation. Humans generally work in the police department.

In addition to the well known species: vampires and werewolves there are many other types of species. There are werefoxes, weretigers. Things like kelpies, mermaids and mermen. These such creatures are rarely encountered by humans and most prefer to remain hidden and not follow humanities day to day rules. Every now and then a human will vanish near a body of water having a picnic, 99.9% of people don't know that kelpies and mermaids exist because no one survives to tell the tale.

The city of New Orleans has a hurricane coming their way. Much of the city will face flooding and residents have been told to evacuate to higher ground or face the rising waters. The body count will rise, but many of them won't be from drowning. The police have noticed many of the bodies have been drained of blood and have visible teeth marks of a vampire, the marks aren’t pretty. Humans have been warned to not travel alone at night in fear of being attacked by this lone vampire and more Marshals and Bounty Hunters are being brought in.

DO I NEED to read the Anita Blake Series to partake in this particular site?: No you do not need to read the Anita Blake Series to join our site. Though reading the Anita Blake Vampire Hunting Series is an good read for adults. You just need to know the plot and go from there. In the gist of things, vampires are legal citizens and werewolves and other were type creatures can be hunted down for their bounty.

DO YOU HAVE a space for advertising?: Yes we do! Please look at our little black book for first time and link back areas. Please post only in our little black book boards and no where else!

CAN WE AFFILIATE with you?: Yes! We are currently taking affiliates. Just follow our form and you will be our affiliate in a jiffy!

WHY DON'T I see my were choice under the group bar?: To prevent too many usergroups being created we group every were aside from werewolf under 'others' making them purple. Then we write 'Were-____' as your custom title.

WOW YOU GUYS have only a few rules. Why is that? I'm used to seeing pages full of rules: Everyone knows the basic rules. Play nice, don't stick a tack in someone's seat. We don't feel the need to draft a fifty page essay.

WHY SHOULD I join your site?: Our staff have a love of both role playing and the supernatural. We are a small site with just a few members with quite a few characters. We love new members and try to make them feel at home as if they were always here. We have no cliques and no drama.

THOSE ARE SOME neat post codes. Can I have one?: Of course. My co-administrator Crayola makes them for use on Decimated Dreams only, permission needs to be requested by Crayola if you wish to use them on another site. Though not all sites have it enabled to use those pretty post codes.

ARE THERE ANY limit of characters?: There are currently no limits of any characters except master vampires. Currently we already have a master of the city (go ahead and plot to take his space) and we allow only 1 master vampire per 20 members joined. Which means that there is 1 master vampire position open additional to the master vampire, free for the taking. But if you want to make a necromancer, an animator, and then an Lupa and Rom go for it! You can create as many characters as you can handle.
