The Humans Refuse to Fade Away…..
Time has passed since Melanie Stryder was freed of the Soul
inhabiting her body, Wanderer. The two have made their home
in the underground hideout in the desert. They have lived in
peace and sustained themselves by sneaking out into the night
for supplies and farming underground. They have furthered their
survival rate by creating a radio system between the humans
hiding and a way to listen in on the world that now belongs to
the Souls. A future for the surviving humans and rogue Souls
that have joined the humans is looking brighter. Perhaps they
cannot take the world back, but they can survive and continue
to live.
However, like any society, it has its flaws. The Souls are beginning
to debate if taking over humans is truly the best. They were born
to heal, yet they are taking away the lives of creatures that live
on the planet. Solutions are beginning to blossom in society
that perhaps, it is better to give a choice to the humans if they
want a soul implanted in them. Or maybe use it as a way to control
crime and place them into harden criminals. Thoughts of a
society where humans and Souls live together are becoming
more and more of a possibility.
Seekers, the most violent of the souls, are in complete outrage.
Humans are to be used as vessels, and vessels alone. The
whispers of a war are beginning to rise. Debates are on the
airways of radio and televisions. It seems that the Souls are no
better than humans. So the decisions are demanding solutions,
do the Souls give the humans a choice? Do they find other
ways to compromise with the human race? And if they do, will
the Seekers rise up and stake their claim to possess any body
they please?
