Sometimes Courtney isn't sure if the way she is is because that's who she is or because it's the person she made herself to be to protect herself, but most days she just doesn't care. Honestly, sometimes what people think and say bothers her, but for the most part she doesn't pay attention enough to let it get to her. She's anti social and lives in her own little world most days, only venturing out to party and have a good time, hoping to forget all about the issues that plague her every day life. They loved their firstborn, David, but every child after was nothing more than an inconvenience. They weren't the worst parents...They took care of their children...But it was easy for friends and family to tell that they didn't enjoy parenthood and were always stressed. Courtney's childhood wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst. She was taken care of and her family had their good moments from time to time. But Shannon and Sam were always fighting over bills and now and then getting into huge and scary fights. David and Brittany were mean to Courtney and Katelyn half of the time, and very affectionate the next...Your usual sibling relationship. The more that time went by, the worse things got. Her mom was paranoid about her dad cheating, her dad was always drunk, and things steadily got worse and worse until her parents were both arrested for the possession of drugs when Courtney was ten. David had graduated high school, so he took in his sisters for a while. When he got tired of them, he sent them off to their grandparents and every now and then they'd be sent off to different aunts or uncles or cousins. Courtney and Katelyn stayed with Brittany for a while when she was old enough. Courtney found it hard to deal with and no one else seemed to care much what she was up to. She got pregnant at thirteen and Brittany gladly took her to the abortion clinic, saying she wasn't ready to take care of a baby and didn't want a baby in her house. Courtney didn't think she was too out of control. She hung out with friends, had sex and did drugs and drank, but she didn't do it all of the time. She lost a lot of friends and gained a few new ones with her new attitude and trust issues. She loves music, one of the few things she cares about these days.
